How Eternal Grove Works

A simple and natural process

Eternal Grove provides a peaceful woodland resting place where ashes can be interred beneath trees.

The process is designed to be straightforward and respectful, allowing families to make arrangements in advance or at the time they are needed.

Step 1

Choose a memorial option

Families begin by choosing the memorial option that feels right for them within the landscape.

Woodland Placement

Memorial Tree

Exclusive memorial rights around a single tree for family members over time.

Each option provides a peaceful place of remembrance within a protected ecological landscape.

Step 2

Reserve the memorial

Once a memorial option has been chosen, the reservation secures the memorial rights within the landscape.

Some families choose to reserve in advance as part of future planning, while others arrange the memorial following a cremation.

The reservation confirms the selected memorial option and the chosen location within the landscape.

Step 3

Ashes placement within the landscape

When the time comes, ashes are placed beneath the memorial tree using a biodegradable urn.

Placements take place quietly within the woodland and meadow landscape, with family and friends able to attend.

Each memorial location is carefully recorded within the landscape register to ensure accurate long-term records and stewardship.

Step 4

A living landscape of remembrance

After the placement, the woodland, meadow and surrounding habitat continue to grow and mature over time.

Families are able to return to peaceful woodland paths, wildflower clearings and natural spaces where their loved one rests within the landscape.

The landscape itself becomes the lasting memorial.

  Landscape Guidelines

To preserve the natural environment, Eternal Grove landscapes follow a small number of simple principles.

  • Ashes placement only

  • Biodegradable urns only

  • No headstones or grave surrounds

  • No plastic flowers or artificial ornaments

  • Visitors remain on designated paths where possible

  • Wildlife and natural habitats are protected across the landscape

These guidelines help ensure every Eternal Grove site remains a peaceful ecological landscape for future generations.
